Content & Portfolio Policy
Effective date: May 23, 2026 · Zaraya Platforms LLC, Texas · Applies to all users and providers
1. Purpose
Zaraya allows users to upload inspiration photos to their style boards and booking requests, and allows providers to upload portfolio images to their profiles. This policy sets out the rules for all content uploaded to the platform — what is allowed, what is prohibited, and what happens when content violates these rules.
This policy applies to all Zaraya users and providers. By uploading any content to Zaraya, you agree to comply with this policy.
2. What You May Upload
Providers may upload:
- Portfolio photos of work you have personally performed.
- Before-and-after images of services you have completed, with client consent (see Section 4).
- Business or studio photos that accurately represent your workspace.
- Inspiration or reference images you have the legal right to use and display.
Customers may upload:
- Inspiration photos for style boards and booking requests — images that represent the look or style you want to achieve.
- Personal photos (e.g., selfies) you own and wish to share with a provider as style reference.
3. Ownership & Rights
By uploading content to Zaraya, you represent and warrant that:
- You own the content outright, or you have obtained all necessary licenses, permissions, and rights to upload and display it on Zaraya.
- The content does not infringe any copyright, trademark, privacy right, right of publicity, or any other intellectual property or personal right of any third party.
- You have the right to grant Zaraya the license described in Section 7 of the Terms of Service.
You retain ownership of content you upload. Zaraya does not claim ownership of your photos or style boards.
4. Client Consent for Portfolio Photos
Providers who photograph clients for portfolio use must obtain the client's explicit, informed consent before uploading those images to Zaraya. This applies to any image in which a client is identifiable — including images where the client's face, distinctive tattoos, or other identifying features are visible.
Consent must cover:
- Permission to photograph the client or the results of the service performed.
- Permission to display those photos publicly on Zaraya and any associated promotions.
- Any specific restrictions the client places on how the images may be used.
Zaraya recommends obtaining consent in writing (e.g., a signed release or a written message). If a client later requests removal of their image, the Provider must promptly remove it from their Zaraya profile and notify Zaraya at legal@zaraya.net so it can be removed from our systems.
Zaraya is not responsible for content uploaded without proper client consent. Providers indemnify Zaraya for any claims arising from consent violations.
5. Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited on Zaraya and will be removed without notice:
- Stolen or plagiarized work. Images taken from another stylist's, salon's, or business's portfolio without explicit written permission from the original creator.
- Stock photos presented as original work. Licensed stock images or photos downloaded from the internet that are presented as the Provider's own work.
- Copyrighted images without permission. Any image subject to copyright that you do not own or have a license to use (see our DMCA Policy).
- Non-consensual images. Photos of identifiable clients or individuals uploaded without their consent.
- Explicit or adult content. Sexually explicit, graphic, or pornographic images of any kind.
- Graphic or disturbing content. Images depicting graphic violence, gore, or content that would be considered deeply offensive by a reasonable person.
- Misleading content. Images that misrepresent the Provider's actual work, skill level, or services — including heavily edited or AI-generated images presented as real client results.
- Images of minors. Photos of individuals under 18 years of age without verified parental or guardian consent, or any image of a minor that could be considered inappropriate.
- Hate symbols or discriminatory content. Images that promote hatred, discrimination, or harm against any group.
- Spam or promotional abuse. Images containing embedded promotional text, watermarks for competing platforms, or otherwise uploaded solely for advertising purposes outside the normal portfolio context.
6. Copyright & DMCA
Zaraya respects intellectual property rights. If you believe content uploaded to Zaraya infringes your copyright, you may submit a DMCA takedown notice to our designated agent as described in our DMCA & Copyright Policy.
Providers and users who repeatedly upload infringing content will have their accounts terminated under our repeat infringer policy.
7. Zaraya's Right to Review & Remove Content
Zaraya reserves the right — but has no obligation — to review, monitor, or remove any content uploaded to the platform at any time, for any reason, at our sole discretion. We will remove content that violates this policy, our Terms of Service, applicable law, or that we determine is otherwise harmful to our users or platform.
We will make reasonable efforts to notify the uploader when content is removed. However, we are not required to provide advance notice before removal, particularly in cases of serious violations.
Removal of content from the Zaraya platform does not necessarily mean it has been removed from all backup systems immediately — standard backup retention cycles may apply.
8. Reporting Violations
If you encounter content on Zaraya that you believe violates this policy, please report it to us at legal@zaraya.net. Include a description of the content and, where possible, a link or screenshot. We will investigate and respond within a reasonable time.
9. Consequences of Violations
Depending on the severity and frequency of violations, consequences may include:
- Removal of the violating content
- A warning to the account holder
- Temporary suspension of upload privileges
- Permanent account termination
- Referral to law enforcement where applicable (e.g., non-consensual intimate images)
